New York Day 2

We are now in Las Vegas. Yesterday was our last day in New York and the weather fortunately cleared, so we went on the Staten Island ferry for views of lower manhatten, ellis island and the statue of liberty (looks smaller than I thought it would be because it is actually some distance from manhatten on it's own island in the middle of a rather large bay!). After sunning ourselves on the decks (temp still only less than 10 deg rees) we dashed up the empire state building (lots of queing, much of which we missed by buying our ticket in advance) for amazing views of the city. And at lunch we were off to the airport already for our flight to Vegas. Checked into the very pink Flamingo hotel and went for a stroll along the strip stepping into some of the casinos on the way. We even gambled a whole $2 on the slots. After an 21 hour day, we were tired. More visits to tacky casinos are planned for today!
