We were staying in Lake Havasu City whose 'claim to fame' is that it has the old London bridge, which they dismantled, transported to America and re-erected in the middle of the desert, and built a town around it, even creating a lake for it to span! We then we across the Parker Dam, which was a lot quieter than the Hoover Dam, into California. We then had lunch at Pioneer Town, which was built by Hollywood producers as a western film set. We then drove through Joshua Tree National Park which was amazing, a cross between Wilson's Prom and Coober Pedy! There were lots and lots and lots of rocks! as well as cactus... We headed to Palm Springs in the dark and checked into the hotel and wandered around the town.
